Koelio ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it's handled.
What we collect
When you place an order, we collect:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your delivery address
- Order details — what you bought, quantities, and the total paid
We do not collect or store your card details or banking information at any point — payments are handled entirely by our payment processor, iKhokha, on their own secure infrastructure.
Why we collect it
- To process and deliver your order
- To contact you about your order status, delivery, or an issue with it
- To handle returns, refunds or warranty queries
- To meet our own legal and accounting obligations
We do not use your information for marketing unless you've separately opted in, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary information with third parties who help us run the store:
- iKhokha — processes your payment; they receive your name and email to complete the transaction, and handle your card details directly under their own security standards
- Our courier partners — receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your order
- Our hosting and database providers — store order records securely on our behalf; they don't use your data for any purpose of their own
We don't share your information with anyone else, and we don't sell it.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as reasonably necessary for accounting, warranty and legal purposes. You can ask us to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to any legal obligation we have to retain it (for example, financial records).

Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal retention requirements
- Object to how we're using your information
